Fantastic performance at Silverstone:

DARK DOG rider Cluzel brings the victory home

Silverstone, Great Britain: Finally the MotoGP World Championship came back after 24 years to the fast and historical circuit of Silverstone and just in time for the first Moto2 practice also the rain came back to England, characterising in that way the opening session. Although the meteorological conditions made the race difficult for both riders, the Forward Racing Team stucked to the same aim: learn as quickly as possible the new track, collect first impressions and get some confidence in order to be prepared for the qualifying. Both riders did a great job in the first free practice, ending up on top of the time ranking with Jules Cluzel on 10th and Claudio Corti on 12th position.

The qualifying could not turn out in a better way for the DARK DOG riders who could dominate the second free practice and the qualifying, ending up on incredible 1st and 2nd place and celebrating a qualification one-two at the AirAsia British Grand Prix on Saturday! After only five races during his first World Championship, Claudio Corti hit his first pole position ever with a time of 2.09,624 min being the only rider who managed to brake the wall of 2.10 on this track. The young Italian rider left behind even his experienced team-mate Jules Cluzel, who finished with a gap of 0.413, in second place and qualified the third time in series for the front row grid position this season.

Both DARK DOG riders showed fantastic work as well on the race day with Jules Cluzels deserved first ever victory and a high performance of Claudio Corti until two laps before the end - a proof of strength of the Forward Racing Team. The Rookie found back to the performance he was demonstrating during the winter tests and succeed to show his value once again last weekend. Only a simple crash out at the end of the race excluded him from the podium next to his teammate Jules Cluzel, who was running a smart race up to the very end. Always monitoring the situation in the top positions he waited for the right moment to take advantage, passed Luthi and finally ended up first.

What a unforgettable and admirable race-weekend for the Forward Racing Team! DARK DOG - supporting the Team with MORE ENERGY - is looking forward to more action-packed races and is confident to see both riders on the podium!

Jules Cluzel

1st position
"After the last two races, in which I tried to win at all costs, I thought maybe it was better to try to do well without thinking about the first place and the victory came right here! Sincerely, I was waiting pretty long time for that moment but today I just wanted to do well because, during the warm up, I had quite a lot problems and the feeling with my bike was not at the top. Before the race, the team reacted, doing a fantastic job on the bike and giving me an absolutely perfect machine, I thank them so much. But I'm sorry for Claudio, the podium with him next to me would have been even better. Maybe we will retry the next week in Assen: I am optimistic, our level in fact is really high, although we have to continue to work to improve."

Claudio Corti

30th position
"Everything was perfect: the bike, the track which I like very much and it was new for everybody, the grid position and start as well. I missed a great chance to finish for the first time on the MotoGP world championship podium for a little crash in the final. But I look at the positive side: after 5 races, I realized that I can be close to the fastest in this category, which of course is an awareness that gives me strength for the next races, the first one just in six days from today on."
