Fantastic fourth place for DARK DOG rider Jules Cluzel

after the summer break

Brno, Czech Republic: After three weeks of deserved holidays the Forward Racing team, was back on track for the tenth round of the season, the classic middle-august race in Brno last weekend. Both riders of the team used the first free practice on dry conditions to work out the set-up and the tyres for Sunday's race. Even though the positions were not that positive with Jules Cluzel 17th and Claudio Corti 19th the team was satisfied with the work of both riders, bearing in mind that the gap to the top of the timesheet was just one second.

Against the weather forecast both Saturday's sessions on Brno circuit took place under dry conditions. This was very positive for Jules Cluzel who qualified in eleventh position thanks to the excellent work realised by the team. Claudio Corti instead qualified for the race from the middle of the starting grid, as the young Italian rider has been slowed down by chattering problems during the qualifying.

The DARK DOG riders presented themselves in form on Sunday, with Jules Cluzel finishing in fourth place. The young French rider, after starting from eleventh position on the grid, handled a very convincing race, which began with a great start. For the first half of the race Cluzel was fighting for the victory as he managed to follow Andrea Iannone who was forcing the pace trying to create a gap to his opponents. Unfortunately Jules was slowed down during the second half by a decrease in performance of the rear tire which made him to lose a few seconds, not much but enough to be unable to challenge for the podium. Claudio Corti instead has claimed a lower engine performance compare to the one he had during the practice sessions, due to a fault in one electronic sensor, so the rider from Como failed to make the comeback race that he was expected to do.

DARK DOG congratulates its riders and is looking forward to supply the team with MORE ENERGY in Indianapollis.

Jules Cluzel

4th position
"I'm absolutely happy with this fourth place; I think we really deserved it after this weekend. For the race we found the best setup with the bike so that I was able to fight for the podium. I would like to thank my team for all the hard work they did during the weekend, that put me in the condition to get back on top after two races where, for various reasons, I was not able to show all my worth. With the result from today we climbed up the classification to sixth place recovering several points to my direct adversaries in the championship."

Claudio Corti

26th position
"We had a difficult weekend. We never really managed to find the ideal setup of the bike and in addition I had an engine problem during the race which did not allow me to improve my starting position. It is absolutely not the position we deserve and we will work really hard during the next weeks to come back as soon as possible to the top fifteen."
